(from event page) Crosscut and the curators of the Crosscut Festival invite you to join us for an important conversation with renowned journalist Soledad O’Brien and Frontline reporter Miles O’Brien as we discuss their recent work covering the intersection of public health crises in our region – the COVID-19 outbreak, homelessness and housing instability.

We will trace the origins of Seattle’s affordable housing shortage and rising rents, and examine our struggle to find effective solutions. We’ll also take a new look at the issue through the lens of the COVID-19 outbreak in Washington state, exploring how the pandemic has exacerbated and exposed the underlying issues that cause housing instability, and consider how the COVID outbreak has laid bare how susceptible we all are to having our lives shaken at any moment.

COST: FREE, RSVP REQUIRED. DETAILS: This is a free virtual event that will be hosted on Zoom. You will need a computer or device with an internet connection in order to attend.
