Event: Health Inequity & COVID-19: Moving from Communication to Action (Panel Discussion and Q&A)
Date/Time: 07/09/2020 at 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Location: Online   -  -
Details:

This panel is sponsored by the Health Communication Matters (HCM) committee, under the Health Communication Working Group (HCWG) and Community Planning and Policy Development (CHPPD) section of the American Public Health Association (APHA), and the Society for Health Communication.

(from event page) We are in a state of emergency, and to act is critical. The intersection of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matters protests has exacerbated issues of health equity and racism like never before. The question is, can we finally transform broken systems by letting Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities lead the conversation?

Our experienced health equity panel will share advocacy tools for public health professionals as well as models to mobilize everyone to become accountable in the fight for health equity. Please join us in a robust session that will include a Q&A with our panel.
