(from event registration page) This webinar as been updated to be responsive to the growing need for safe patient care during this pandemic, remote services that are available, opportunities to address emergency dental demand, and new reimbursement methods. The original objectives will also be addressed as they relate to our current situation and as time allows.

Many people face barriers to accessing dental care including the cost of dental care, fear, geographic distribution of dental offices, and linguistic/cultural barriers. Teledentistry is an opportunity to address these barriers by bringing dental care to community sites where underserved populations receive educational, social, and general health services and to link services provided in the community with dental clinics where more advanced services can be provided. This is a proven strategy to increase access to preventive services.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand an innovative dental delivery model designed to reduce the burden of dental disease and increase access to affordable dental care.
• Outline factors that are considered for planning and implementing teledentistry services and infrastructure requirements.
• Discuss telehealth regulatory variations from state to state and its impact on practice, parity, and reimbursements.
• Discuss Washington teledentistry regulations and reimbursements and its impact on project sustainability.
